October 1, 2014

Dear Museum Friends,

Wonderful things are happening here at Kidspace, and I welcome the opportunity to share our excitement with you.

Kidspace continues to soar ahead with additions and renovations to our already amazing campus. This year has already brought us a new Early Childhood Learning Center, made possible by a grant from the S. Mark Taper Foundation. I invite you and your toddlers to come and experience a Shiny Stream, Twisty Tunnels, Nuzzle Nests, a Tinker Table and much more to stimulate exploration, inspire wonder, and prompt interaction between children and adults.

We are always looking ahead, and right now that means new exhibits in our Gardens scheduled to open in 2015. This will be a major renovation project and will include a Hawks Nest, a Flood Plain, Hidden Forts, and a Toddler area just to name a few of the surprises in store for our guests. Education continues to be at the forefront of our planning, and these exhibits will continue to be fun and educational at the same time.

Kidspace is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, and we welcomed our 4 millionth guest. It is very rewarding to visit the Museum and see how much the children love interacting with the exhibits, having fun, and learning something new. We are proud to be an outstanding organization serving children and families not only in the greater Pasadena area, but from all around Los Angeles and the surrounding counties.

Our ongoing $13 million Campaign for the Future of Kidspace is providing new and stimulating ways for us to assure that when children come to us they will always have new, interesting and engaging things to do and see. To date we have raised over $10 million. I would like to personally thank everyone who has contributed to our campaign; we could not have done it without you.

I would like to close by introducing you to our new Mission Statement. We worked hard to compose a statement that would impart the core values we wish to communicate to our guests.

The mission of Kidspace Children’s Museum is to nurture the potential of all children through kid-driven experiences, inspiring them to become joyful, active learners.

Warm personal regards,

Kris Popovich
