  • Caterpillar Adoption Days
    Saturday, March 22 to Sunday, May 4 - Witness the life cycle of a Painted Lady Butterfly by adopting a caterpillar in the Busy Bee Learning Store. For $4, receive a caterpillar, its food and care guide, as well as the adoption certificate to name your caterpillar. Draw each stage of metamorphosis on your life cycle observation sheet and then release your adult butterfly into the natural world. Caterpillar Adoption Days run from March 22nd through May 4th while supplies last. Also, join us for Kidspace’s Grand Butterfly Release on May 3rd & 4th! Be sure to visit kidspacemuseum.org during Adoption Days for caterpillar information and availability.



  • 18th Annual Grand Butterfly Release
    Saturday & Sunday, May 3 & 4 - The culmination of butterfly season at Kidspace includes the release of over 500 butterflies, each day, into the Kidspace Gardens as well as face painting, cookie decorating, drinking nectar like a butterfly, amphitheater shows, butterfly-themed story and music time, butterfly art, as well as a special musical guest. Butterflies will be released at 2:00 pm each day. Guests are welcome to bring their own butterflies and release them anytime during the weekend.
  • Free Family Night
    Tuesday, May 6, 4:00 to 8:00 pm - Enjoy an evening of abstract art at Kidspace with “Found Object Sculpting” in the Imagination Workshop and “Abstract Drawing” at Nature Art. At 6:30 pm, there will be a performance featuring Music with Sarah, with songs in both English and Spanish. Admission to Kidspace is free from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
  • Parenting Workshop – Sleepy Time Struggles
    Tuesday, May 13, 6:00 to 8:00 pm, $25 per person - At this discussion-based, parenting workshop, participants are invited to share their personal challenges as we discuss the latest techniques in helping your child achieve healthy sleep habits. Sleep is important to growth and health. Let's start tonight!
  • S. Mark Taper Foundation Early Childhood Learning Center Grand Opening Celebration
    Thursday to Friday, May 22 to 23 - Kidspace is proud to unveil the completely redesigned and remodeled S. Mark Taper Foundation Early Childhood Learning Center. This space, which is dedicated to connecting children to nature, early in life, invites Kidspace’s youngest guests to explore Mini mountains, twisty tunnels, a shiny stream, nuzzle nests and other innovative experiences and activities that are personally meaningful for early learners as well as developmentally beneficial. You are invited to explore this brand new space during its grand unveiling celebration and enjoy many other activities around Kidspace especially for infants and toddlers.
  • Make Your Mark
    Saturday, Sunday, & Monday, May 24, 25, & 26 - Become a permanent part of Kidspace by purchasing and painting a ceramic tile to be mounted on the wall of the S. Mark Taper Foundation Climbing Towers at Kidspace. Tiles are $25 each and tax-deductible; all proceeds go towards supporting the great programs Kidspace offers daily.
  • Rubber Duck Races
    Saturday, Sunday, & Monday, May 24, 25, & 26 - Come out to Kidspace this Memorial Day Weekend for a fun time of watery competition and lasting impressions. First, purchase a rubber ducky from the Busy Bee Learning Store (while supplies last), then decorate and race your rubber duck down the Interpretive Arroyo in the Kidspace Gardens! Races will run hourly from 11am to 3pm.
  • Member Appreciation Days
    Saturday, Sunday, & Monday, May 24, 25, & 26 - Are you a Kidspace Member? Join today for 20% off merchandise in the Busy Bee Learning Store during Memorial Day Weekend and enter the Members-Only Raffle to win a basket full of books and toys! Members will also enjoy a free gift with all $50 merchandise purchases this weekend only!


  • Free Family Night
    Tuesday, June 3, 4:00 to 8:00 pm - Come explore the culture of Ireland. There will be Irish-themed activities and a cultural performance of Music and Dance. The performance will be at 6:30 pm. Admission to Kidspace is free from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. June Free Family Night is sponsored by ScholarShare.
  • Flea Market
    Saturday & Sunday, June 7 & 8, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, each day - Calling all entrepreneurs! It’s not business as usual, it’s the Kidspace Flea Market! Come sell, swap, and shop ‘till you drop at the flea market run by kids for kids! Learn the tricks of the trade to running your own business by selling gently used items, homemade goods, something silly or useful you made on your own, or even a talent! Registration is $11 and includes Museum admission for two people. Online pre-registration to be a vendor is required and opens May 1. Space is limited!
  • Expectant Parent Boot Camp
    Saturday, June 14, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, $50 per person or $90 per couple - During this all-day training, Kidspace will help new and expecting parents conquer some of the most exciting and pressing questions about being a parent and prepare you for the amazing changes your family is about to experience. For a significant portion of the day, there will be workshops on topics such as swaddling, diapering, car seat installation, baby food-making, family/ baby balance, and “dad talk” from stay-at-home dads. Throughout the day, parents-to-be will be able to connect with experts in early childhood development to answer questions, receive advice, and relieve some anxiety.
  • 35th Anniversary Celebration
    Saturday & Sunday, June 28 & 29 - We’re having a party to celebrate 35 years of Kidspace and you’re invited!  Enjoy daily live performances, party games and crafts, walk through a timeline of Kidspace’s history, help create a communal art piece, and don’t forget the birthday cake!
  • Summer Camp Week 1 - JPL Outer Space Camp
    Monday to Friday, June 16 to 20 - Journey into outer space with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory!  Led in part by specialists from JPL, campers will explore the environments and atmosphere of outer space with activities such as Outer Space Olympics, walking on the solar system, making a "universe in a jar," and creating olive oil constellations.  Campers will also learn what food and equipment an astronaut takes into space by packing for their own space mission!   • Summer Camp Week 2 - Inventors Camp
    Monday to Friday, June 23 to 27 - What does it take to invent a machine that can change our world? Come delve into the world of invention! We will explore the mechanics of simple machines in the Galvin Physics Forest, learn about great inventors, see how their discoveries changed history, and create a few inventions of your own! Learn More.
