  • Author Visit Oliver Chin
    Sunday, January 25, 1:00 pm - Happy New Year! In honor of 2015, picture book author Oliver Chin will read and autograph his new book Year of the Sheep. Learn about the 12 animal signs of the zodiac and what inspired Oliver to write and publish his books. You can collect all the books in the Tales from the Chinese Zodiac series at the Busy Bee Learning Store.

  • Free Family Night
    Tuesday, February 3, 4:00 to 8:00 pm - Explore the art of romantic dance! Enjoy performances of ballet, and belly dancing as well as create clothespin flamenco dolls and castanet instruments. Free Family Night is supported, in part, by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, the Michael J. Connell Foundation, and the City of Pasadena Arts & Culture Commission. Admission is free from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, performances begin at 6:00 pm.
  • Have a Heart Day
    Saturday, February 14, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm - Kidspace is celebrating love and American Heart Month in a whole new way this year through a greater understanding of our hearts and how to keep them healthy. Play games to get your heart racing, make anatomically correct heart love cards for loved ones, and explore food that makes our hearts happy.

  • Free Family Night
    Tuesday, March 3, 4:00 to 8:00 pm - Enjoy a night of Irish culture and dance! Guests will explore the history and traditions of St. Patrick’s Day, make “Stain Glass Shamrocks,” create “Egg Carton Snakes” and pretend gold, as well as enjoy Irish Folk Tale storytelling. Free Family Night is supported, in part, by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, the Michael J.   • ArtNight Pasadena
    Friday, March 13, 6:00 to 10:00 pm - At Kidspace during ArtNight Pasadena, explore the art, history, and the culture of puppetry. Create your own finger and animal puppets, learn the mechanics of marionettes and design one in the Imagination Workshop. Enjoy a puppetry performance by The Crayon Court at 6:00 and 7:30 followed by a professional puppeteering demonstration. Admission to Kidspace is free from 6:00 to 10:00 pm.
  • Bug Fair
    Saturday & Sunday, March 21 & 22, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm - Celebrate the wonderful world of bugs! Chat with a bug specialist, adopt your own insect or arachnid, and participate in a variety of bug related activities including a live ladybug release. Don’t forget to register for the wormy composting workshop!
  • Caterpillar Adoption Days
    Saturday, March 21 to Sunday, May 3 - Witness the life cycle of a Painted Lady Butterfly by adopting a caterpillar in the Busy Bee Learning Store. For $4, receive a caterpillar, its food and care guide, as well as the adoption certificate to name your caterpillar. Or get a cup of 5 caterpillars for $18. Draw each stage of metamorphosis on your life cycle observation sheet and then release your adult butterflies into the natural world. Caterpillar Adoption Days run from March 21st through May 3rd while weekly supplies last. Also, join us for Kidspace’s Grand Butterfly Release on May 2 & 3! Be sure to visit kidspacemuseum.org during Adoption Days for caterpillar information and availability.
