The 23rd Annual Kidspace Children's Museum Pumpkin Festival hosted by the Circle of Friends returns to Brookside Park, October 14 and 15 from 9:30a.m.-5:00p.m. Last year the event hosted almost 20,000 people from the Southern California region.

Pumpkin Festival admission is free, and the community is invited to attend. The musical performances and selected crafts are all complimentary. Tickets are3070 available for purchase to enjoy the bouncers, petting zoo, games, food, and many other attractions. Children can play carnival games, make fall crafts, have their faces painted, and select their pumpkins from the pumpkin patch. Enjoy free live musical performances from GEM Sisters, BARK, The Alana Banana Show, Revolution Dance Center, Rumbling Rhythms, Cleary Irish Dance, The Hollow Trees, and more.

Festival Co-Chairs Leslie Lopez and Nicole Moreau are very excited about this year's event. "Circle of Friends and Kidspace Children's Museum are honored to host the 23rd annual Kidspace Pumpkin Festival." said Moreau. "This is a wonderful community-based event, providing support to nearly 500 underserved children known as VIPs (Very Important Pumpkins), who otherwise would not have an opportunity to attend. They receive tickets and vouchers that can be used for rides, crafts, games, pumpkins, used books, and food, as well as a free admission pass to visit the museum. Circle of Friends volunteer leadership works with community partners to identify deserving children and families."

Lopez and Moreau have lined up an impressive assortment of food vendors including Shakey's Pizza, Teri & Yaki, Robin's Wood Fire BBQ, Jones Coffee Roasters, Los Tacos, Choctal, Kona Ice, The Habit Burger Grill, and In-N-Out Burger. With so much to do, see and sample, families can spend the whole day celebrating fall and building excitement for Halloween.

3072 The Pumpkin Festival is organized by the Circle of Friends, the museum's volunteer support group, and offers even the youngest children a fun and safe way to celebrate fall. "I think the fact that this event has been so well-attended over the years speaks to our tight-knit community and the importance of Kidspace's role in it," said Lopez. "All of the festival's net proceeds, which last year were upwards of $75,000, benefit the museum, making it possible to continue to serve children of all ages for years to come."

The 23rd Annual Kidspace Pumpkin Festival is sponsored in part by eHow, Stratford School, Milk and Eggs, New York Life, 100.3 The Sound, Walden School, and GEM Sisters.
