726 David Boehme is one of our veteran Educators here at Kidspace and is involved in both teaching school groups onsite as well as offsite. He’s taught hundreds of school groups in his three years at Kidspace and shared with me some of his insights from his experience. As one of our Discovery Educators, David teaches programming to visiting schools that align with California content standards and school day focus. For David, teaching in an outdoor setting has helped him connect the nature content from his program to the outdoor setting the students get to experience. His favorite program, the “Chumash Discovery” combines nature, art and social studies. Programming like this provides students an opportunity to extend learning beyond the classroom to a hands-on experience. David says that that the best part about teaching visiting groups is passing on a love for learning beyond the classroom!
