1515 Happy Noon Year!  Celebrate Kidspace’s Noon Year’s Eve on December 31st with a balloon drop and toast at 12-noon with sparkling apple cider, handmade shakers and hats.  We are excited to enjoy a live music concert by Clint Perry & The Boo Hoo Crew, visiting us from San Diego, to help us countdown to the “Noon-Year!”

What if I miss the fun or want to continue the party at home?  No problem, recreate the balloon drop or start new family traditions with your little ones. Here are ideas on creating activities that are fun and something your kids will remember for a lifetime:

  • Fill a kitchen trash bag full of balloons  and host your own balloon drop at 9pm timed with the east coast.  If you don’t mind the clean-up, you might add confetti!
  • 1516 2014 could be full of surprises - make your own time capsule.  Decorate an empty toilet paper roll and write a letter on scraps of paper that your family will open the following year.  Talk about what has changed, what has stayed the same, even hopes and dreams.
  • Buy or make party hats, New Year’s glasses and blowers. Dress it up and have some fun ringing in the New Year -it does not need to be expensive.  (I suggest a visit to the 99 cent store for all our activity supplies)
  • Don’t forget your sparkling apple cider to toast 2014!

The New Year is a great time to practice setting goals.  List New Year resolutions and make a plan to achieve your goals before the end of the year.  My goal is to take more photographs this year.  Maybe there is a space in the garden you’ve wanted to turn into a family vegetable or container garden.  You might look up famous or historical people with birthdays that land on December 31st or January 1st.  Research who they were and what they did for their community, then think about how your family can give back to the community in 2014.

1517 We hope to see you at Kidspace’s Noon Year’s Eve and make sure you get here early because the balloon drop is at 12-sharp!  Allow for extra time to park and walk to the museum since there will be a flurry of last minute preparations for the 125th Rose Parade in the Arroyo area.  Please also note that Kidspace will close at 3:00pm.

Best Wishes for 2014!!
