It’s Pumpkin Festival time! I am so excited to celebrate the 20th Annual Pumpkin Festival with Kidspace. This will be my 4th Pumpkin Festival, and I think the best one yet! Mark your calendars for this weekend, October 18th and 19th, from 9:30 am-5:00 pm, and head over to Brookside Park, directly in front of Kidspace.

I have spent the last few months working on the Pumpkin Festival, and I have the pleasure of working with a talented group of women from the Museum’s Circle of Friends to plan and execute this incredible community event. Dawn Denison, Circle of Friends President, and Allison Dalbeck and Becky Walley, Pumpkin Festival Co-Chairs, have been amazing leaders. They have been guiding their committees of dedicated volunteers throughout the planning process with a positive attitude, creativity, and enthusiasm. Museum staff and the Circle of Friends will be onsite in orange shirts all weekend making sure that the 20th Annual Pumpkin Festival is a huge success for Kidspace.

What can you expect at the Pumpkin Festival? We will have fun fall crafts, games and prizes, bouncers, pony rides, a petting zoo, live musical performances, a pumpkin patch, and a used books and costumes shop.  In addition to all of those amazing activities, you can enjoy food and drinks from any of the food vendors that will be onsite. We will have The Coffee Gallery, Robin’s, In-N-Out, Shakey’s, Choctal, and Teri & Yaki returning this year, and joining us for the first time will be the Kona Shaved Ice Truck and Los Tacos. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase with a chance to win Disneyland park hopper passes, a Kidspace birthday party, and more! Festival admission is free to enjoy the live music and performances, as well as selected crafts. There is also plenty of free parking in Lot I of the Rose Bowl adjacent to Brookside Park. Tickets will be available for purchase to enjoy the rest of the festival attractions. With every 20 tickets purchased, guests will receive a free admission pass to Kidspace. Additionally, Museum admission will be half-price during the festival.

What many of you may not know is that patrons to the Pumpkin Festival are able to sponsor scholarships for some Very Important Pumpkins (“VIPs”). These are children that would otherwise not have had an opportunity to experience the Pumpkin Festival. Last year we welcomed 400 VIPs and we plan to increase that number this year. If you are interested in sponsoring the VIP program, or any part of the Pumpkin Festival, please contact me.

I am so excited to take part in the 20th Annual Kidspace Pumpkin Festival, and I hope that you are all able to join in the fun!
