Kidspace Welcomes 5 Millionth Guest!

Kidspace Children’s Museum welcomed their 5 millionth guest, the Renninger family, on Friday, June 30. The lucky family was awarded a 5-year membership to2994 Kidspace and a goodie bag of educational products and toys from the Busy Bee Learning Store. Kidspace is a unique children’s museum that includes almost 3.5 acres of indoor and outdoor, interactive environments that feature more than 40 hands-on exhibits with daily programs and monthly events. The museum promotes play-based learning and fosters a child’s growth and development through explorations of the environment, investigations in science, and adventures in artistic forms of expression that captivate the inquisitive and growing minds of children ages 10 and under.

Kidspace Children’s Museum is a leader in children’s education and one of the city of Pasadena’s many cultural assets since its establishment in 1979. Annually, Kidspace serves more than 335,000 children and families through educational programs, school group visits, early learner classes, on-site events, and community engagement. “This is a very exciting event for us,” said Michael Shanklin, Kidspace Chief Executive Officer, “It confirms and validates the great work we do in our community. We look forward to nurturing the potential of the next 5 million children we serve.”

The 5 millionth guests were Michael, Jennifer, and Lhasa Renninger of Sherman Oaks. Michael and Jennifer’s 2-year-old daughter had been to Kidspace once previously and had urged her parents to take her again. They had planned to return the weekend of June 25, to celebrate Michael’s birthday only to realize Kidspace was closed due to the Arroyo Seco Weekend music festival at the Rose Bowl. They decided to return the following weekend. “The wait was well worth it,” said Jennifer Renninger as they were surprised with being the 5 millionth guest. The family looks forward to their 5-year membership and bringing their daughter for many more memories at Kidspace.
