Free Family Night: Food and Culture

Admission is free to Southern California's premier children's museum! Celebrate the cultural achievements of African Americans in honor of Black History Month and enjoy a food and culture fair with several Pasadena restaurants. This program is made possible in part by the Pasadena Art & Culture Comission and the City of Pasadena Cultural Affairs Division.

Creative Writing Workshop

Create a robot character and write a science-fiction story about him/her using inspiration cards. Workshop is $5 per child. Register now.

Celebrate Valentine's Day In the Kidspace Kitchen! Work with your child to make California rolls for lunch with a special chocolate dessert. For ages 6 and up with a caregiver. Class is $35 per child and includes admission to the Museum for adult and child. Register now.

Kidspace Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony

Celebrate National Heart Health Month and honor the 2010 Winter Olympics. Register for $35 per child to help carry the "torch" from Brookside Park to Kidspace Children's Museum to kick off the Kidspace Winter Olympics. Limited to 15 children. Registration donation includes a t-shirt, medal and photo for each participant. Register now.
We encourage children to request donations to help pay for their registration fee as the money will go to support the Museum in providing learning opportunities for underserved students. Kids can raise additional funds to increase their donation to Kidspace, and the child who raises the most will get to light the final torch. For more information, call (626) 449-9144 ext. 5201.

February 14-21
Kidspace Winter Olympics

Event 1, 10:30AM daily: the drinking straw race. Each racer must hold a drinking straw between his or her nose and upper lip, then run to the finish line without losing the staw.
Event 2, 11:30AM daily: the dinosaur race.
Event 3, 1PM daily: ice relay. Each racer must balance an ice cube on a spoon and be able to transfer the ice to a teammate who then runs to the finish line.
Event 4, ongoing daily: trike track race. Each racer gets a timed lap around the trike tracks, with each day's top times presented daily at 1pm. The fastest kids will recieve a free pass to return for the Kidspace Olympics Closing Ceremony. All free with admission.

Kidspace Winter Olympics Closing Ceremonies

All event winners are invited to walk in a parade to show off their Olympics medals. Torch carriers also return and the top trike track race winners will be announced. Kids can make ribbon wands to use in the parade from 10AM-2PM. Free with admission.

Parenting Workshop: Yummy for Your Tummy, Part One

Worried that your child isn't eating enough, or won't eat his or her veggies? This two-part workshop will answer all your nutritional questions. Part One, for adults only, will focus on strategies and best practices to teach healthy eating habits. Part Two invites your child to join you in preparing fun and healthy food recipes. Caterpillar Adoption Begins!

Visitn the Busy Bee Learning Store to adopt a live caterpillar. Raise the insect from pupa to chrysalis to beautiful butterfly following the included directions. Return to Kidspace on April 17 to release your butterfly into its natural habitat. Adoptions are $5 per caterpillar and available while supplies last. Kidspace Nature Explorers Spring Break Day Camp

Kids ages 5 and up explore the Kidspace Gardens and uncover the secrets of our natural habitat. Each day is packed full with science activities, nature and art! In addition, each camper will recieve a caterpillar to care for. Registration is available for full days (9AM-5PM, $80 each) and half-days (9AM-1PM or 1PM-5PM, $50) each.
