Outdoor Spaces
Kidspace offers more than two acres of outdoor hands-on exhibits and learning environments that provide a variety of sensory and physical experiences for children and families. Families investigate properties of water as they interact with our water features throughout the museum site. Kidspace educators are always on hand to facilitate interactive small group programs such as panning for gold in the Miner's Outpost, leaf rubbing by the Wildlife Pond or a nature hike. Children can also strengthen their gross motor skills by climbing the Rootwad Climber, traversing the Strata Wall and role-playing on the Spider Climber. The challenges continue indoors in the Digging Deeper Gallery with the 40-foot Raindrop and Wisteria Climbers, and the popular InterAntics Climber just right for our youngest explorers. And for those nature collectors, the Kidspace Nature exchange is the place to try on the role of a naturalist where you can research and trade natural items such as rocks, minerals and plant specimens.
