Sand Candles October 14, 2012 - 2:00 pm @ Flutterby Art Center
Explore the science of extothermic reactions, heat, energy, by designing candles using sand molds. We will create different shape, colored, smell and sized candles out of sand and candle wax. We will also examine the physics of how a candle flame is extinguished and the direction of air using a variety of activities and experiments. Wondering what to do with those peeled and broken crayons? In this workshop we will show you some creative ways to reuse those wax crayons and turn them into something new and creative. Take these candles home and enjoy them yourself or give them as a gift this holiday season! Workshop fee is for child and accompanying adult. Cost: is $8.00 per child in addition to regular admission (NO REFUNDS).
