Campaign for the Future of Kidspace

In 2012, the Kidspace Board of Directors announced to the public a new campaign focused on allowing Kidspace to reach its potential as a leader in children’s museums and informal education. With a goal of $13 million, the stage has been set for Kidspace to take full advantage of its physical and natural resources, to expand its capacity to serve children, and to form meaningful community partnerships.

To date, forward thinking friends have contributed $12,445,121 to the Campaign for the Future of Kidspace. With an innovative exhibit master plan in place, Kidspace has already made millions of dollars in improvements to the Museum in the form of the new exhibits and operational upgrades. Kidspace values children's achievement in learning through exploration and discovery. In every exhibit, children interact with one of our trained educators that ignite a child's interest in the world around them. A dedicated Honorary Committee is volunteering their time as ambassadors to help raise awareness of the Museum’s efforts and triumphs.

Other accomplishments of the Campaign include technology and infrastructure upgrades to the Museum facilities and campus, as well as a strategic restructuring and strengthening of the Museum’s financial sustainability.

The next phase of the Campaign will be another major investment in new exhibits and experiences. In the fall, the West Gallery, located in the Roberts Pavilion, will become a creative space for story-telling, dramatic play, puppetry, and visual arts.  Next spring, Kirby’s Corner will become Kidspace Campgrounds, an area which will promote outdoor camping activities and national parks.

What we do here at Kidspace goes way beyond “play.”  Kidspace allows children to explore, pretend, create, and most importantly, build confidence.  Our youngest guests walk away filled with pride, joy, and a desire to learn.  New discoveries take place each time a child visits the campus.
