Funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Artist-in-Residence program, featuring Viviana Palacio and Keith Patterson of Cloud Formation Lab, will include a series of workshops throughout the year and culminate in a new interactive installation at the museum around the bird life of the Arroyo Seco.

Every Thursday, between 11:00am - 3:00pm* and during May and June Free Family Nights, the artists will be at the museum studying the birds of the Arroyo Seco and workshop the project with guests. They will be creating artwork and experimenting with visitors. Come visit and participate in their process.

The Artists

The Artist collective Cloud Formation Lab is composed of the duo Viviana Palacio and Keith Patterson.

Their collaborative projects play with the sense of place, by reflecting upon the history or experience of a site, and inviting viewers to re-imagine their experiences in relation to each other and their surroundings. Their works use and bring to life materials from archives, with particular interest in exploring archival photographs and objects manufactured in the past, to reveal stories about the place, time, and culture where they were produced and delve into their significance today.

Stop in to learn more about the Theater of Birds and meet the artists. Their interactive installation at Kidspace is in its final stages, stay tuned for the date of our grand unveiling.
