Girl Scout Badge Event: Space Science

 

Brownie: Sunday, January 19, Junior: Sunday, January 26, 5:30-7:30pm: Girl Scouts will explore our solar system in this badge event! Daisies will explore how shadows are made, use tools to get a closer look at the stars and moon, and make some space-inspired art. Brownies will learn the order of the planets, observe the constellations and how pictures were made from the stars. Juniors will model the distance between the sun and the planets and use tools to find the different constellation way points. Upon completion of the event, each participating scout will earn and receive their Space Science Badge.

Fee is $25 per scout and adult pair. An additional pizza dinner add-on from 4:45-5:30pm is available for an additional $14.50 per person. Register at kidspacemuseum.org.

 

Kindness Rocks! Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend

 

Saturday-Monday, January 18-20, 11:00am-4:30pm: Recognize and appreciate kindness this Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend! Share stories of friendship and love on an artistic community tapestry, decorate kindness stones to share, and create solutions to help others in our cities and neighborhoods using recycled materials.

 

Museums Free-For-All

 

Saturday, January 25, 11:00am-5:00pm: Over forty museums presenting art, cultural heritage, natural history, and science will open their doors and invite visitors to attend their museums free of charge.

 

Little Learners

 

January 28-March 7, 10:00-11:00am: Join Kidspace for fun hands-on activities that explore art, nature, and science. You will be given tool to support your child’s thinking, reasoning and understanding – all while encouraging their natural curiosity to explore their natural world! These sessions will focus on developing language and literacy skills through positive interactions. Onesies (12 to 23 months) sessions available Wednesdays and Twosies (24 to 36 months) sessions available Tuesdays. Saturday Combo (12 to 36 months) sessions available Saturdays from 10:30am-11:30am. Fee is $150 per child and adult pair. Register online.

Kidspace Children's Museum is located at 480 N. Arroyo Blvd., in Brookside Park, Pasadena, CA on 3.5 acres of both indoor and outdoor, interactive environments. The museum features over 40 hands-on exhibits with daily programs and monthly events for children ages 1 to 10. The mission of Kidspace is to nurture the potential of all children through kid-driven experiences, inspiring them to become joyful, active learners.
