Annual Fund

The museum offers an informal, play-based learning environment that supports the whole child fulfilling the mission to nurture the potential of all children through kid-driven experiences, inspiring them to be joyful, active learners.

Kidspace relies on community support to help deliver powerful educational experiences on a daily basis and make the museum available for everyone through Kidspace for All access programs. More than 90,000 of the 380,000 guest served this year will have visited through the free and reduced cost programs, which included an EBT card holder discount, Free Family Nights, military discounts, school and camp field trips, My Masterpieces art program for PUSD kindergarteners, and sensory sensitive events.

As 2018 comes to an end, we encourage you to support the museum and the life changing moments we provide each day. Our general admission revenue covers only a portion of our operating budget. We rely on support from individuals, as well as sponsorships and grants from governments, corporations, and foundations to help us deliver powerful educational experience on a daily basis.

We are able to achieve all that we do beacuse of YOU! Thank you to our Kidspace family for supporting our mission. Click below to view the 2017 Annual Report.

Kidspace for All is everything we do on a daily basis. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn through play and build critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills. We make it a priority to ensure that all children and their families, regardless of their circumstances, are able to access the museum.

In 2017 we welcomed more than 371,000 visitors – that’s a lot of PLAY! Almost 80,000 of our guests will have accessed the museum through our free or discounted admission access programs through Kidspace for All.

Some of the programs we offer through Kidspace for All include:

  • Discounted admission for families who show their EBT card

  • Discounted admission for military and their families

  • Free Family Nights (every month except September)

  • Kidspace camp scholarships

  • Special events for families with special needs

  • Kidspace on the Road outreach presentations and events throughout the community

  • Free field trips, such as My Masterpieces

  • Reduced cost field trips for students, which include passes for students to return to the museum with a parent

Admissions, memberships, and other revenue sources cover only 80% of the museum’s operating expenses. Annual Fund support received from individuals, corporations, and foundations provides the resources necessary to close the funding gap.
